mosaic turtle taking pride of place at the lookout overlooking Cemetary Beach. Totally outstanding effort by all involved and installed just in time for the start of turtle nesting season! It has been quite the talk of the town, with articles in the local papers like this one below:A new lookout structure and artwork have been unveiled at Port Hedlands popular Cemetary Beach. The new viewing deck has been built to withstand marine coastal elements and our hot Pilbara climate. A flatback turtle has been set into the platform casting a watchful eye out to the ocean. The town worked with Jupps Floorcoverings & Tile Boutique Port Hedland to create a mosaic art piece. The masterpiece was created with the skill of local master-tiler Greg Quanchi, with the turtle's eyes sculpted from glass dichronic metal by his wife Linda..."
