Pile weights, densities and backings are rated for the traffic of offices, classrooms and corridors, the fibres are chosen for colourfastness and cleanability under daily maintenance, and the constructions are mostly loop piles that hold their appearance under rolling loads and heavy foot traffic. The ranges on this page are from GH Commercial, the contract division of Godfrey Hirst. Forge Ahead, Concourse II, Knights Point II, Transient and Agility are nylon loop piles designed for heavy commercial traffic, in palettes built for workplaces and education. Kingsgate Heather and York Street are 100% wool, and Kingsgate Town is a wool rich blend, for boardrooms, hospitality and aged care, where a softer feel and a natural look matter. Forge Ahead, Concourse II, Transient and Agility are supplied in 4 metre widths, which reduces seams across wide open plan floors.

Our commercial team can advise on the right rating for the space, coordinate with other trades, and install out of hours or in stages to keep a business running. Subfloor preparation, moisture testing on slabs, cove skirting and transitions to hard flooring are all handled as part of the job. Alongside broadloom, Jupps also installs commercial carpet tiles, sheet vinyl and safety flooring and hybrid flooring, so a whole fit out can be specified and installed by one contractor. What makes carpet commercial grade?
Commercial carpets are rated for heavy traffic through their pile density, fibre and backing. Most are nylon loop piles, because the colour is locked into the fibre and the loop construction keeps its appearance under chairs, trolleys and constant foot traffic. They carry contract ratings for the spaces they suit, from light commercial through to heavy duty, and they are built for regular hot water extraction cleaning.
Which commercial carpet suits an office?
A nylon loop pile such as Forge Ahead, Concourse II or Knights Point II, in a mid tone or flecked colour that hides marks between cleans. For boardrooms and reception areas a wool rich range such as Kingsgate Heather gives a softer, more premium feel.
Broadloom or carpet tiles?
Broadloom gives a seamless, softer floor and suits boardrooms, hospitality, aged care and corridors where appearance matters most. Carpet tiles are quicker to install around furniture and services, and a damaged tile can be swapped out. Jupps installs both, and many offices use broadloom in meeting rooms and tiles in open plan areas.
