Choosing solution dyed nylon for a Perth home

Colour that goes all the way through
In a solution dyed nylon carpet the colour is added while the fibre is being made, so it runs through every strand rather than sitting on the surface. The practical result is a carpet that does not fade in a sunlit room, does not lose colour to spills or harsh cleaning, and can be cleaned with products that would strip a surface dyed carpet. Add nylon’s resilience, the best of any synthetic fibre, and you have the carpet most WA families end up choosing for living areas, hallways and kids’ bedrooms.

FAQs
What is the difference between solution dyed nylon and ordinary nylon carpet?
Ordinary nylon is dyed after the fibre is made, so the colour sits in the outer layer and can fade or be stripped by strong cleaners. Solution dyed nylon has the pigment mixed into the polymer before the fibre is extruded, so the colour is part of the fibre itself. Both are resilient; solution dyed is the one to choose for sunlit rooms and households that clean hard.
Is solution dyed nylon good for pets and kids?
It is the fibre we recommend most often for both. Pet accidents and food stains can be cleaned with stronger products without affecting the colour, the fibre resists crushing in high traffic, and a twist or loop pile hides the marks in between. Choose a cut pile if claws catching in loops is a concern.
How do I clean solution dyed nylon carpet?
Vacuum regularly, blot spills promptly and use a household carpet cleaner for marks. Because the colour is locked in, solution dyed nylon tolerates oxygen based cleaners and professional hot water extraction well. Our guide to removing stains from carpet has step by step advice.
