About travertine look tiles

Travertine is the stone of Roman bathhouses and, right now, of most Australian bathroom renovations: warm ivory and beige tones, a soft pitted surface and long, gentle veins. Real travertine needs sealing, stains easily and is soft for a floor. Porcelain travertine gives the same surface as a fired tile that never needs sealing, in rectified sizes from 300×600 up to 600×1200, with slip-rated finishes for wet areas and outdoors.

The ranges here run from faithful vein-cut reproductions (Flaviker Navona, ABK Sensi Roma, Casagres Travertine) through cross-cut and filled looks (International MTC Cortona, Fioranese Incisa, Portobello Aeterna) to real-stone travertine mosaics for feature walls and shower floors.

Colours shift a lot between honed, matt and natural finishes, so order a sample through your nearest Jupps tile showroom or send us the rooms and sizes for a supply quote across the Mid West and Pilbara.

Frequently asked questions

Is travertine look porcelain better than real travertine?

For floors and wet areas, usually yes. Porcelain does not need sealing, does not stain, and is harder than real travertine, which is soft and porous. Real travertine still wins on the depth of the natural surface, which is why we keep stone mosaics in the range for walls.

Can travertine look tiles be used in a shower?

Yes. Choose a rectified matt or natural finish with at least a P3 or R10 rating for the floor. The specification table on each range lists the finishes stocked.

Which colours does travertine look come in?

Mostly ivory, cream, beige and silver-grey, with walnut and red in some ranges. The look is warm and soft rather than bright white.

What sizes are stocked?

Most ranges stock 600×600 and 600×1200, with 300×600 in several. Mosaics come on 300×300 sheets.
