What colours does Queenstown come in?
Armstrong Queenstown is available in 12 colours shared across both formats: Mount Cook, Sandy Point, Kingston, Herne Bay, Mount Eden, Newtown, Blackbutt, Arrowtown, Wellington, Riverwood, Spotted Gum, Roseneath. All twelve feature strong colour variation, meaning plank-to-plank differences in tone and grain are an intentional part of the natural timber look.
What is the difference between Queenstown 1.2 and Queenstown 1.5?
The palette is identical; the format differs. Queenstown 1.2 uses 1215mm boards with an AC3 wear rating and a 15 year residential warranty, while Queenstown 1.5 steps up to longer 1515mm boards, a harder AC4 wear rating and a 25 year warranty. Both are 8mm thick with the same click installation.
What does the LRV number mean?
LRV (Light Reflectance Value) measures how much light a floor reflects, from 0 to 100. Higher LRV colours like Mount Cook (49.64) brighten a room, while lower LRV colours like Roseneath (16.5) create a moodier, more dramatic feel.
Is Queenstown laminate waterproof?
Queenstown features a water resistant surface designed to handle everyday household spills when cleaned promptly. While modern laminate offers good water resistance, no floor should be regarded as completely waterproof, as water can enter through joins, edges and other installation points. Installation should be completed in accordance with current Armstrong laminate guidelines.
What does the AC rating mean?
AC ratings measure laminate surface durability. AC3 (Queenstown 1.2) is rated for busy residential use throughout the home, while AC4 (Queenstown 1.5) withstands heavier traffic, making it suited to the busiest family homes and light commercial spaces.
Can Queenstown be installed over existing floors?
Yes, as a floating click-together laminate it can be installed over most existing hard surfaces, including tiles, timber and concrete, provided the subfloor is flat, dry and properly prepared in line with current Armstrong laminate installation instructions.
