Godfrey Hirst – Highbury Place Carpet

Highbury Place is Godfrey Hirst’s answer to the family home that needs comfort and durability in the same carpet. It is made in Australia from Duratuft SD PET, a solution dyed polyester that is naturally stain resistant and soft to walk on, with a textured twist that hides footprints and everyday wear.

The colours are earthy and warm: Dolomite, Stoneware, Rawhide and Almond Milk at the lighter end, Steel, Shale and Gothic Arch for something darker. Polyester also has a natural bulk and softness that makes Highbury Place feel more expensive than it is, which is why it turns up in so many living rooms and bedrooms across WA.

FAQs

Is polyester carpet a good choice?

Modern solution dyed polyester such as Duratuft SD PET is soft, naturally stain resistant and good value. It is not quite as resilient to crushing as nylon in the heaviest traffic areas, which is why we recommend Highbury Place for living rooms and bedrooms rather than commercial spaces.

Is Highbury Place stain resistant?

Yes. The colour is solution dyed into the fibre, and polyester is naturally resistant to most household stains, so spills clean up well if dealt with promptly.

How does Highbury Place compare with Kensington?

They use the same Duratuft SD PET yarn. Kensington is the plusher, denser version; Highbury Place is a textured twist that is slightly firmer and hides wear better.
