Kensington is the plush option in Godfrey Hirst’s Duratuft SD PET family: a dense, soft cut pile in solution dyed polyester that is built for comfort first. It is the carpet to look at if you want bedrooms and lounge rooms that feel indulgent underfoot without moving into the price of the Luxury Collection.

Because Duratuft SD PET is solution dyed, Kensington keeps its colour through sunlight and cleaning, and polyester is naturally resistant to most household stains. The palette runs from Oyster, Chalkstone and Cloudburst at the light end to Deep Grey and Dark Matter, with a run of mid greys in between that suit contemporary interiors.

Is Kensington softer than Highbury Place?

Yes. Both use the same Duratuft SD PET yarn, but Kensington is a denser, plusher cut pile, while Highbury Place is a textured twist that is firmer underfoot and hides footprints better.

Will a plush carpet show footprints?

A plush cut pile such as Kensington will show some tracking and footprints, especially in lighter colours. It is part of the look. If that bothers you, a textured twist such as Highbury Place or Timeless is the better choice.

Is Kensington suitable for a hallway?

It can be used in hallways, but it is at its best in bedrooms and living rooms. For hard-worn hallways and stairs we would usually recommend a nylon twist.
