NFD Kalara Laminate Flooring
Kalara by NFD is an 8mm laminate with a matte finish and micro-bevelled edges, offered in eight timber looks. The palette leads with light, contemporary oaks, Oasis, Horizon and Wanderlust, before moving through warm Merrifield and Harvest Oak into Australian natives with Coastal and Valley Blackbutt and Mountain Spotted Gum.
Uniclic installation makes Kalara quick to lay as a floating floor over most existing hard surfaces, and the boards are made from recyclable material. Laminate remains one of the most cost-effective ways to get a convincing timber look underfoot.

Is NFD Kalara waterproof?
Kalara features a laminate surface designed to handle everyday household spills when cleaned promptly. While modern laminate offers good water resistance, no floor should be regarded as completely waterproof, as water can enter through joins, edges and other installation points. Installation should be completed in accordance with current NFD guidelines.
What is the difference between laminate and hybrid flooring?
Laminate has a high-density fibreboard core with a printed decorative layer and a tough protective overlay. Hybrid flooring has a rigid polymer-based core with a vinyl wear layer, giving it greater water resistance. Laminate is typically the more affordable option and feels firm underfoot; hybrid handles moisture better. Our team can compare the two in store.
Can Kalara be installed over existing floors?
Yes. As a floating click-together laminate using the Uniclic system, Kalara installs over most existing hard surfaces including tiles, timber and concrete, provided the subfloor is flat, dry and properly prepared in line with current NFD installation instructions.
